CCL Season 6 Chennai Press Meet

A Press Conference was held here in Chennai earlier this afternoon to announce the launch of Celebrity Cricket League T20 – Season 6. Scheduled to kick off on 23rd January, 2016 and shall be hosted across various venues like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Kochi and Hyderabad.

Celebrity Cricket League, launched in 2011, is T20 cricket tournament which consists of 8 Teams, each one representing the Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bhojpuri, Bengali & Punjabi film industries featuring some of the most popular actors and celebrities from each respective industry taking the field, in this battle of pride and supreme popularity! Played over 4 weekends between January & February every year, CCL brings together over 200 film celebrities from all over the country, travelling to various corners in order to entertain their fans and audiences! Playing at some of the best facilities in the country, CCL attracts large crowds and has built a very loyal and ever expanding fan base in its 5 years.

Having delivered 5 successful seasons in the past, CCL is the longest surviving Sportainment property in India after the Indian Premier League (IPL). Over the years, CCL has grown from strength to strength; delivering habitually high TV ratings on some of the most highly watched and widely distributed General Entertainment Channels (GECs) in India. Season 6 shall be telecast on the Sun Network and Colors.

The management of the League was delighted to announce a landmark three-year Title Sponsorship deal with Parle Products Pvt. Ltd. for its brand Parle 20-20 Cookies. The sponsorship is part of Parle’s ongoing commitment to associate their widely loved brand of biscuits, sweets and snacks with interesting Live Events. “We’re thrilled to be elevating our association with CCL as Title Sponsor of the League. Last year with the belief of giving to the people at large, CCL helped to bring in new rays of hope to kids suffering with heart diseases where it associated with the Hrudaya Foundation on the 100 Hearts initiative to sponsor surgeries of 100 underprivileged children suffering from various kinds of heart ailments. Moving further on the path to make a difference, this year CCL takes on the CSR initiative of restoring the lives of women victims of acid attacks in association with the National Burns Centre and the Rotary Club. At the press conference held today, owner and player of the Telegu Warriors team, Sachin Joshi announced that through his Big Brother Foundation, he shall donate Rs 1000 for every run scored during the tournament to this noble cause.

The glitzy Press Conference saw the attendance of the Chennai Rhinos who were represented by their captain Jeeva and other members of their Team like Shantanu, Ramana and others. Also in attendance were the defending champions of CCL, Telugu Warriors represented by their owner Sachin Joshi, captain Akhil Akkineni and actresses Adah Sharma and Pranitha Subhash.
