Kashmora, a socio fantasy film starring Karthi, Nayanthara and Sri Divya in lead roles is the third and the most awaited film of director of Rowthiram and Idharkkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame.
It’s a perfect commercial entertainer which turns serious only in the flashback portion which shows us the mythological Karthi and Nayanthara and how their centuries old rivalry is causing troubles for Karthi and his family in the present.
Karthi, like he did in Thozha, has done a cool job throughout the film. The horror comedy turns ab crunching especially in scenes when Karthi gets scared in a bungalow and his portions with Vivek.
As father and son, Karthi and Vivek have excelled in bringing out rib tickling humor. Sri Divya neither an eye candy nor a crucial character but has been used as a reason for being a part of the film which is for you to watch.
The art direction and special effects team have done a great job not only in the period portion but also in erecting a haunted palace. Every set property, ancient weapons, costumes along with a special lighting treatment, are great to watch.
Nayanthara, the reigning lady superstar of Kollywood fetches away the attention in every scene she is in with her flawless looks and grace.
Music from Siddharth Vipin is on an average side except the one between Karthi and Nayanthara. The background score however and the Kashmora theme are haunting and cool enough to keep up the tempo.
