The new 2017 Magalir Mattum stages Jyothika’s second film post her comeback. Having Oorvasi, one of the key players in the 1994 classic hit of the same name, the new venture has Banupriya, Saranya Ponvannan, Livingston and surprise cameos by VIdharth and Madhavan.

Bramma, the national award winning director who won high honor in his debut film ‘Kutram Kadidhal’ has created women-centric film that showcases the plight of women who have completely devoted their entire life for taking care of their family.

Qualities like patience, tolerance and selflessness are highlighted well. How their need for a break from daily household chores and monotonous duties are sidelined by putting family priorities first is one of the key points the director conveys.

Jyothika steps in as a savior to unite three good old friends who have lost their valuable friendship but still share a great feeling for each other. Jyothika has played a character lesser than her age and has pulled off well.

Jyothika looks cool in her tomboyish character and her ideologies about women empowerment are cool. Her role is the medium used to deliver the director’s intent both on how women should be treated and how they are treated otherwise.

Oorvasi takes all the audience’s applause with her cool acting skills. Saranya Ponvannan and Banu Priya have done their role to perfection showing off all their experience.

Music by Ghibran fits well for every situation and his background is catchy as well. CInematographer S. Manikandan has filmed the movie colorfully, especially the road trips and song sequences.Editor CS Prem’s work fits well for the flow, specially in the flashback and present toggles.

Verdict: All married men and women. Go for it.
