Hip Hop tamizha Adhi is back with his second acting venture Natpey Thunai directed by D. Parthiban Desingu.

In the casting department, the film retains certain stars whom we got to see in Meesaya Murukku and holds new additions of YouTube fame.

The film is about a group of people who love a hockey ground and the sport more than their lives, trying to regain it from a politician who tries to sell it to corporate for financial benefits.

The first half of the film is a bit lengthy as it has 3 songs, (which could have not been a hurdle if the tunes were great) . Both comical parts and love sequences were fresh and entertaining in bits and pieces.

The film starts gaining momentum before the end of the first half where we get a pleasant surprise. The interval block promises a cracking second half and the director has managed to deliver it as well.

The film has enough comedy scenes but hasn’t worked out great. However, the flashback portion and other serious parts of the film compensate well.

Things like people gathering with intent to fight for their rights and how politics plays dirty game in tearing them apart in the name of caste, religion and so on are well made parts of Natpey Thunai.

Aadhi has taken care of several areas like music, acting, creative inputs and more. Heroine Anagha LK looks pretty and has been given ample screen space.

Karu Palaniappan is the pivot who adequately provides the push the film needs in the first and second half. His ease in dialogue delivery has helped in carrying out the role of a corrupt politician with ease.

Music is not great but for sure there are a couple of feet tapping numbers and the background score is aptly done.

The director has made great effort in pulling off the hockey match part well. The top angle shots, ground level shots, slow motion sequences present us a thrilling hockey encounter.

Aadhi and Karu Palaniappan hold the most powerful dialogues which highlight the view of politicians, media atrocities, negligence of public and lot more.

Verdict : A perfect family entertainer for the summer.

Rating: 2.75 / 5
