Chennai: 23 June, 2017 – We have got some exciting news for you! ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan is all set to enthral Tamil audiences as a television host for Star Vijay TV every weekend for next 14 weeks from June 24. For the first time on television, Kamal Haasan will anchor the episode on June 25 on Star Vijay.
The announcement of his involvement in the show has already generated unprecedented excitement and interest amongst the audiences. Known for his intellect, finesse and creativity as one of India’s biggest movie stars, the audiences have already expressed their eagerness to watch Kamal Haasan in his new avatar if numbers on social media are an indication: Facebook live broadcast of the launch of the 10 second video alone has touched 4.6 lakh viewers in one hour.
Speaking about his first foray into television, Kamal Haasan, who will assume the role of an all-seeing eye, said, “While this might be the first time I am anchoring a television show, I hope that to bring all my life experiences into hosting and anchoring this show.”
Presented by Star Vijay TV and produced by Endemol Shine Productions, Big Boss will feature 14 celebrities living together inside a custom made ‘Big Boss’ house for 100 days. The participants will be completely cut off from the outside world – they will have no access to internet, phones, television or newspapers. With no way out to distract themselves, each participant will have to compete with others inside the house to complete various tasks; they will be tracked, monitored by 90 odd cameras placed inside the house even while they are asleep. The lavish Big Boss house will have two bedrooms, a living area, kitchen, store room, confession room, garden area with swimming pool, a smoking room, gym, bathroom and the activity area.
Around 45 remote control operated cameras, 10 night vision cameras, 6 GO-pro cameras will be used to monitor and track the inmates 24×7 for 98 days.
While there is immense speculation about names of the celebrities, we will have to wait until the first episode airs on June 25, Sunday at 8.30 pm, which will feature for 3 hours as a launch special.
However, this is certain: the participants have been chosen in a way that will make show irresistible and interesting all the way down to the last day. As it is the case usually with all things associated with Kamal Haasan, the show has been produced at a massive budget of Rs. 450 million.
