With Thupparivalan, the successful combo of Mysskin and music director Arrol Corelli are back.
Vishal, as an eccentric detective who values reason more than money and the same principle pushes him to take up a case. From here it’s a complicated and magical weave of screenplay that keeps us guessing all the time.
Mysskin is back to his home department of suspense thriller and he has done it with style. The eccentric nature of Vishal hasn’t been a great hit among the theater audience, however the story and suspenses keep people from getting into mockery of Vishal.
Vishal has done his part well and Prasanna has played his close pal involved in whatever Vishal does. Anu Emmanuel, one of the most promising upcoming talents in Malayalam film industry has been given a small yet valuable role. From expressions to lip sync, she has done complete justice to her role.
Mysskin’s choice for the villain’s team is surprising and interesting as well. Vinay, Andrea, and Bhagyaraj surprise everyone when the appear onscreen. Everyone in the villain gang have played the role of a disciplined and hardly spoken people and that works well for the seriousness of the film and, especially what they do.
The suspenses and science backed killings maintain the logic and thrill as well. The screenplay is perfectly weaved and the suspenses are placed well so that even a 2 hr 40 mins wouldn’t matter.
Verdict: A perfect theater watch for suspense thriller fans
Verdict: 3 / 5
