Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven Movie Review
A remake of Pawan Kalyan’s superhit Telugu flick ‘Attarintiki Daredi’ and Sundar C partnering with STR for the first time made Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven an interesting news. Let’s get into knowing what’s good in its Tamil version.
Sundar C’s casting is as usual a treat to watch. Besides STR, Megha Akash and Cathrine Tresa, the films has a lengthy list of actors including Ramya Krishnan, Prabhu, Radha Ravi, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu and the regular artistes who are by default a part of Sundar C’s film.
Considering the writing part, Sundar C has avoided the length of few scenes from the original version which ends things on a crisp note. The director has rode high on his strong area humor and also glamor.
Glamor seems to work out as VRV happens to be Megha Akash’s first full length feature film and Cathrine Tresa also adds to the glamor. Apart from these two factors, the film’s length, no gripping scenes or turn of events in the screenplay or even absence of strong presentation of emotions makes the movie lose fizz.
Humor department is taken care by VTV Ganesh, Robo Shankar and in the second half by Yogi Babu as well. Yogi Babu’s murmuring kind of dialogues which he usually utters as a counter are quality fun and leaves us wanting for more.
VTV Ganesh, with his typical slang, dialogue delivery and mannerism manages to score easily. Robo Shankar also has his moments. But still it seems like Sundar C is struggling to find someone like Goundamani or Santhanam to deliver his dialogues in a way audience love the most.
STR is good with his dialogue delivery, energy level, dance moves and his extraordinary emoting talent in emotional scenes which are an integral part of the scenes. The long climax portion is a great treat for his fans. His looks are a total let down.
