Director Vijay Milton’s earnest attempt to make a social-message-driven film is the base behind ‘Kadugu’ and the lead he chose for the same had the film grabbed the attention of media and every movie lover. Has the film has delivered the punch with enough force. Read on to know.
Rajakumaran is the biggest plus of the film followed by supporting character played by Bharath Seeni, who plays his only friend in the film. ‘Kutram Kadidhal’ fame Radhika Prasidhha is another actor who have added to the performance quotient of the film.
Rajakumaran wins with his looks. His pitiful life and inabilities are felt by the audience, thanks to the characterization efforts of the director, costumer and makeup artists. Bharath Seeni is a notable newbie in the film who looks like a ordinary addition in the beginning but scores great at the end.
Dialogues are the best part which helps the film pack a punch while rendering the intended message. Cinematography, as usual, has been handled by Vijay Milton himself in which he has done great justice. The petty quarrels, talkie portions, lengthy single shots adds to the film’s beauty.
Stunt by Supreme Sundar, in the climax portions are good but could have been more realistic at a few places. Bharath, with his beefed up body, has played his part perfectly.
Lip sync for Rajakumaran and Bharath Seeni is a flaw which annoys us in the first half but it is perfected as the film progresses. Though the messages are applause worthy, the film lacks a complete start to end architecture on the whole. The climax is quite convincing but apart from one good reason, the film doesn’t give anything else for the audience to appreciate it on the whole.
Verdict: The social messages save the ship.
