Chennai, July 3, 2026: Marking a landmark achievement in precision orthopaedics, Prashanth Hospitals, Velachery, today honoured Dr. Arumugam S, Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Specialist and Head – Department of Robotic Joint Reconstruction, for his landmark achievement of becoming South India’s first orthopaedic surgeon to successfully complete 1,000 robotic knee replacement surgeries. The recognition was presented by Padma Shri Dr. Mayilvahanan Natarajan, Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon and Former Vice-Chancellor of Dr. M.G.R. Medical University to Dr. Arumugam S in the presence of Guest of Honour Actor & Producer Ms. Radikaa Sarathkumar, Dr. C. Geetha Haripriya, Chairperson – Prashanth Group of Hospitals, Dr. G. The event also celebrated the impact of advanced joint replacement procedures, with over 20 patients across age groups who had undergone robotic-assisted knee replacement surgeries walking the ramp to showcase their restored mobility, confidence and ability to return to everyday activities. Actor & Producer Ms. Radikaa Sarathkumar joined the patients as the showstopper, encouraging them and celebrating their journey towards improved mobility and independence.
