Director Shaji Kailash and actor-producer RK’s third combo forms Vaigai Express. The duo have already teamed up for the silent hit ‘Ellam Avan Seyal’ and ‘En Vazhi Thani Vazhi’.
The film is a crime, suspense thriller which is hardly engaging. A few portions seems like winning the heart and the climax is a complete turnaround from what the film was till then. Climax is a surprise and gives audience some reason to cheer about.
RK is a cop with all mass scenes, background scores, punch dialogues. The film’s investigation plot ok but the investigation as such is not so engaging as there is nothing new to get impressed.
Among the performers, Neetu Chandra steals the show followed by Nasser and Ramesh Khanna who have played their roles to perfection.
Music score by Thaman is noisy at times but adds to the mass quotient the scenes intend to showcase. Nothing new is the drawback of the film as investigative films have gone a mile in terms of engaging audience and once such example would be D16.
Cinematography and editing departments has done its role to for flawlessly presenting the film. Another major flaw which has lethargically been overseen is the lip sync. Though most of the actors we see onscreen know Tamil, the lip sync is totally out of track.
Verdict: You’ll have to wait for thrill in this film till climax
