The list of women-centric movies from Jyothika continues with Kaatrin Mozhi and director Radha Mohan making a remake of Bollywood hit Tumaari Sulu adds more fizz to the film. Here is what Kaatrin Mozhi is all about.
Jyothika (Vijayalakshmi) is a cheerful and sincere housewife who aspires to start a business on her own but is demoralized by here sisters and father due to her poor show in academics. Viji happens to secure a job as RJ in a popular FM station and things that happen surrounding and connected to it what that completes Vijayalakshmi.
Radha Mohan’s making has a huge family fan following and this film is no different to it. Most of the dialogues are realistic and convincing while a few are not. He has packed a bunch of responsibilities for Jyothika that draws her full potential and the seasoned actress has pulled it off well.
Jyothika propels the entire film. You get to see romance, mischief, motherhood, emotions and a lot more from her. And of course, credits to her costumes that gives her a typical middle aged housewife look.
As usual, there is no dedicated sidetrack for comedy but several characters chip in at regular intervals and provide humor. Yogi Babu has a very little screen space but still he rules the screen throughout his presence and gets overwhelming response from audience.
The opening song Vijayalakshmi is peppey and serves are the lead’s BGM throughout, while Dirty Pondatti is a melody that’s here to stay for long. Credits to music director AH Kaashif.
Verdict: Perfect family entertainer and a rocking Jyothika show.
